Then process is also interchanged. Positive valancy Fe attracts toward negative electrode

After doing activity of electroplating of an iron strip, a student interchanged the connections of the electrodes:

• When the electric current is passed, copper from the copper sulphate gets plated on the iron whereas copper from the copper plate gets disassociated into the copper sulphate solution.

• If the electrodes are interchanged, then iron will displace copper from the copper sulphate solution and turn it into iron sulphate ( thus the solution also turns from blue to green).

• Now the process of electrolysis will happen but in the opposite direction that is the iron will get plated on copper ( as iron from iron sulphate gets plated on copper and iron from the iron plate gets disassociated to the iron sulphate).
