The substance that is electroplated undergoes a reversal and the plating is removed from it.

2. This is because, when the substance was connected to Cathode, reduction of metal was taking place on it, which resulted in deposition of metal on it.

3. But when the substance is made anode, oxidation of the metal takes place and it gets into the solution as an ion.
