Given : After extensive research, a physicist has developed a way to determine the minimum stopping distance of a car.

The stopping distance, s, is greater than or equal to the ratio of the square of the speed of the car, u, to twice the deceleration, d.

To Find :  inequalities representing this situation

Solution:

Stopping distance = s

speed of the car = u

deceleration  = d

ratio of the square of the speed of the car, u, to twice the deceleration, d.

=  u² / 2d

The stopping distance, s, is greater than or equal to the ratio

=> s ≥ u² / 2d

s ≥ u² / 2d   represents this situation
