Hi ,

Let

i ) At present

Son age = x years

Mother age = y years

ii ) after 5 years ,

Son age = ( x + 5 ) years

Mothet age = ( y + 5 ) years

According to the problem given ,

Mother age = 3 × son age

y + 5 = 3 ( x + 5 )

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

3x-y+10=0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : After five years age of mother will 3 times the age of her son

To Find :  represent above statement as a linear equation in two variable

Solution :

Let the present age of son be x

let the present age of mother be y

After 5 years

Mother's age will be y+5

Son's age will be x+5

Since we are given that After five years age of mother will 3 times the age of her son

So, y+5=3(x+5)

So, y+5=3x+15

3x-y+10=0

Hence a linear equation represent above statement is 3x-y+10=0
