Let the market price of the article is x.
Then 8% discount on market
price is =x*8/100
After discount it's price =x-x*8/100
So,
x-x*8/100=414
or,x(1-8/100)=414
or,x*92/100=414
or,x=414*100/92
or,x=41400/92
or,x=450 (ans)

Answer:

Required marked price is 450 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let marked price be x.

Here giving discount is 8%.

After giving discount the price is 414 rupees.

According to question,

8% discount on x = 414

x \times  \frac{100 - 8}{100}  = 414

 \frac{92x}{100}  = 414

 \frac{46x}{50}  = 414

By cross multiplication,

46x = 414 \times 50

x =  \frac{414 \times 50}{46}

x = 450

Therefore required marked price of the article is 450 rupees.
