They have given whether the decimal expansion of 23 by 2 power 4 into 5 Power 3 terminates.

There are two types of decimal places like terminating and non-terminating decimal places. Terminating means the number is divisible .

Non-terminating means the number is not divisible , also the quotient goes on recurring.

Here we have to find whether the number is terminating or non-terminating.

 23 / 2^4  x 5^3

= 23 / 16 x 125

1.4375 x 125

= 179.6875.

In this case it is a terminating decimal since the number is divisible and the quotient has stopped. It does not recur.

It is after 4 decimal places it will terminate
