Sum left with the man = 18000

Loss = 25%

Let he had x money with him

He lost 25% and left with = (100 - 25) = 75% only

So, 75% of x = 18000

75/100 x = 18000

75x = 1800000

x = 1800000/75

x = 24000

Initial amount he had with him was = 24000 rupees

 \textbf {Hey there, here is the solution.}

.............................................................................................

STEP 1: Form the equation:

Percentage after a loss of 25% = 100 - 25 = 75%

Amount of money left after the loss = ₹18000

75% = ₹18000

.............................................................................................

STEP 2: Find the original amount:

1% = 18000 ÷ 75 = ₹240

100% = 240 x 100 = ₹24,000

.............................................................................................

Answer: The man originally had ₹24,000
