Dear Julie,

Hope you are doing good. How are all at home? Hope your exams are over. I am writing this letter to tell you about an urgent matter. You know that it is my dream to win the scholarship jacket and I really worked hard for it. Every year the scholarship jacket is given to the valedictorian of the school. My sister Rosie had won the scholarship jacket a few years back. I happened to overhear a conversation between my teachers one day. They were discussing me and the scholarship Jacket. Mr. Schmidt spoke in favor of me but Mr. Boone wanted Joann to get the jacket. She was rich and her father was a member of the board. I was very sad. The next day I was summoned to the principles office. He told me that there was a change in the policy that year regarding the Scholarship jacket. I had to pay fifteen dollars off I needed the Scholarship Jacket. You know about my family I can never afford that. Why did the management change the policy? I reached home and asked my grandfather to give me the money to pay for the jacket. But he denied my request and told me that if I paid for it then it would not be a Scholarship Jacket. The next day I met the Principal and told him that I was not ready to pay for the Scholarship Jacket. I was so heartbroken and even told him that he could give the Scholarship Jacket to Joann. On Hearing this the Principal was moved and he decided to make an exception in my case and thus I won the Jacket.

I don't know how to express my happiness.

Thanks to grandpa. If he hadn't given me the right advice I wouldn't have received the Jacket I wish I could meet you. Convey my regards to all at home. Do reply me as soon as you receive this letter,

lovingly

Your friend

Martha.
