After President John F. Kennedy's assassination President Johnson did not put any pressure on Congress to pass the act.  

The “Civil Rights Act of 1964” was enacted on the 2nd July 1964 and which stated that there should be no the discrimination on the basis of, color, race, religion, sex, or national origin. This law protected the rights of the employees and job applicants. On July 2nd, President Johnson signed on the act and turned it into law.
