Dear Wangari Maathai,
I read your interview and was exceedingly inspired and motivated. You have really done something great in the direction of environmental conservation. The most inspiring thing about your work is your efforts to include the local illiterate women in the conservation programme. You deserve kudos from all inhabitants of the world for rehabilitating the environment which will benefit all of them. You have not only started the Green Belt Movement, but also fought for equal rights for women in Africa. If just a few women in the developing countries start working like you, I am sure total rehabilitation of the deteriorated environment is possible.
Thus, having been inspired by you, I wish to do something similar in my country, India. Here the environment has been so much damaged and polluted that if we don’t start the Green Belt Movement at many places, soon there will be a colossal environmental collapse. So I am interested in taking training from you for a few months. I want to come over to Kenya and learn the environmental restoration techniques under your care. After learning the techniques, I am interested in creating an entire team of dedicated volunteers who will work for the environment restoration and rehabilitation all across India. I hope you will not deprive me of the pleasure of learning funder your care.
Warm regards,
