Yes, I think that our traditions, values and heritage are the roots that nourish us. Every human born belongs to a certain place, society and a loving family. It is in the family and society where values, culture, heritage work persistently to hold the institutions of family and society strong because these very customs are the foundations of a healthy and harmonious society and family. Since time immemorial, our country has undergone many changes with the advent of various rulers, changes in the political system and the educational system too. But the society continues to be unaltered. In the story, the Portugese had left behind the makers of bread whose legacy prevails till date. It is the same folk tales, ballads, rhymes heard, the same cultural virtues and heritage practised. And it is these traditions that mould and shape a newborn till they become old. We are exposed to these values unknowingly such that they become engraved as intrinsic attributes of our behaviour and personality in our hearts and minds. In the story, though the eaters have vanished, the makers of bread exist, the fire in the furnace is not extinguished. Bread is an important part of every auspicious occasion including marriages, engagement, Christmas etc. This is an open testimony to the perpetuity of tradition and heritage. It is a sine qua non for a harmonious society to flourish and for a buoyant family to burgeon.  We must respect these values, beliefs, and traditions and never attempt to tarnish them.
