Let the total money be x
Clothes=20%=20x/100
Books=10%=10x/100
Gifts=9%=9x/100
Others=7%=7x/100
Money spent=20x/100+10x/100+9x/100+
7x/100=46x/100
x-46x/100=2700
100x-46x/100=2700
54x/100=2700
54x=270000
x=270000/54=5000

Answer:

Chandra had Rs.5000 in total after spending 46 % of the money on different items and having a balance of Rs.2700.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total money be 100 %

Now:

Expenditure on clothes = 20 %

On books = 10 %

On purchasing gifts = 9 %

On other items = 7 %

Total expenditure done = 20 % + 10 % + 9 % + 7 % = 46 %

Money left = 100 % - 46 % = 54 %

ATQ:

54 % x = 2700

54 / 100 x = 2700

54 x =270000

x = 5000

Therefore, Chandra had Rs.5000 in total.
