 \sf \large \underbrace { \underline{Understanding \:  the \:  Question}}

The man has spent 60% money. It indirectly means that he has 40% money left after spending and the amount of money left is Rs.8000. To find the total money he had before spending we have to make equation according to the question.

So let's start! :)

Let us assume the total money be x.

So equation can be formed as follow:-

   \mapsto  \: \large \sf40 \%  \: of  \: X=8000

 \sf \large :  \implies \:  \:  \frac{40}{100} \times x = 8000

 \sf \large :  \implies \:  \:  x = 8000 \times  \frac{100}{40}

 \sf \large :  \implies \:  \:  x =  \cancel{8000 \times  \frac{100}{40}}

 \sf \large :  \implies \:  \:  x =  20000

Total money the man had before spending is x=Rs.20000
