Let the man's income to x

80%of x = 100/80 × x = 0.8x

So, the remaining amt. of the man's salary =

X-0.8x = 0.2x

10% of the remainder :

10%of 0.2x = 10/100 × 0.2x = 0.02x

Add the two to find the total salary he has used ;

0.8x + 0.02x = 0.82x

Therefore, this man used 0.82x of his salary. Find the remainder :-

X- 0.82x = 0.18x


So, 0.18x is left of his salary.we are given that what is left from the salary = 46,260

Thus,

➡0.18x = 46,260
➡Or, x = 46,260/0.18x
➡or, x = 2,57,000
