(B) Bhimdev

In 1024, the Somnath temple was constructed by Mularaja which was devastated by the famous Afghan ruler, Mahmud of Ghazni, who invaded the pantheon beyond the Thar Desert. The temple was again reconstructed by the Paramara ruler Bhoja of Malwa and the Solanki prince Bhimdev I of Anhilwara which is now recognized as Patan in Gujarat from 1026 onwards to 1042. This seems to have been a wooden construction, which was then superseded by a rock temple later by Kumarpal.
