After the battle of Plassey , Mir Jafar was considered to be a puppet in the hands of British because of all these reasons :

♪ Mir Jafar had to pay a heavy amount to the British as a compensation for attack on the fort William by Siraj - Ud - Daula.

♪ He was a nawab for namesake but he should follow the rules of British and administration was in the hands of British.

♪He was failed to meet the increasing demands of British.

In 1757, after the Battle of Plassey, Nawab Mir Jafar conferred the 24 Paraganas of Bengal to the British and also the Jangli mahals (small administrative units), as a result he was propped up as the Puppet Nawab.
