Hitler sent Mein Kampf, meaning My Struggle, to a publisher where it was rejected. However, the Nazi publishing house in 1925 issued the first volume. The second volume appeared the next year. In the summer of 1928 Hitler wrote his second book which outlined his foreign policy views, it was never published. The 2nd books existence was not known until a typed manuscript was found in 1958 in the US archives. By late 1932 the book had sold over 230,000 copies, enough for him to live off the proceeds but following his appointment as chancellor of Germany on January 3rd 1933 the books popularity soared and made Hitler a multi-millionaire. The Nazi propaganda machine made special editions including one for Hitlers 50th birthday.
Hope this helps
