• Afzalkhan knew the fact that it was very difficult for him to conquer Pratabgad.
• Pratabgad was a fort built by Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the hill and was covered with dense forest.
• It was extremely tough for him to enter the fort of Pratapgad as the fort was well protected by the artilleries.
• Because of these reasons, Afzalkhan became angry on learning that Shivaji Maharaj moved to Pratapgad.
