Ag rod is dipped in Copper sulphate solution as shown in the figure. Will there be any displacement? justify your answer.​

Answer:

Blue colour of the copper sulphate solution changes into green colour & then iron nail acquires a brownish look. This is because that iron is more reactive than copper.

The following chemical reaction takes place in this activity.

Fe+CuSO 4 →FeSO 4+Cu

In this reaction, iron displaces copper from CuSO

4 solution.
