Answer:

AgCl is white while AgI is yellow in colour. As size of anion increases the polarisation increases and hence colour intensity of the compound increases. Hence AgCl forms white colour and AgI yellow colour.

✌✌✌✌✌✌✌

AgCl is white while AgI is yellow in colour.

Reason:

1.Transition in a set of compounds from ionic to covalent bonding is accompained by

---> change of colour.[From white -orange-Yellow- Black]

---->decrease in m.p and b.p

--->reduction in electrical conduction.

Ionic percenatge :AgCl>AgBr>AgI>Ag2S

2.I>Br>Cl

As size of anion increases the polarisation increases and hence colour intensity of the compound increases.

Hence AgCl forms white colour and AgI yellow colour.
