Step-by-step explanation:

The mean, median and mode are types of average.

The range gives a measure of the spread of a set of data.

This section revises how to calculate these measures for a simple set of data.

It then goes on to look at how the measures can be calculated for a table of data.

Answer:

(a) For group A;

Mode is 7 and 10 because both come two times.

Range =10−7=3 years

For group B;

Mode is 12 as it occurs most frequently 3 time.

Range =12−7=5 years

(b) Combining the group A and the group B and arranging them in ascending order, we get

7,7,7,8,9,9,10,10,11,12,12,12,

As 7 and 12 occur most frequently 3 times in the above given data.

The mode is 7 and 12 years

Range = Highest age − Lowest age

=12−7=5 years
