let the age of daughter be x
x -  \frac{1}{4}  = 36 \\ x = 36 +  \frac{1}{4}  \\ x =  \frac{144 + 1}{4}  \:  \:  \: on \: cross \: multiplication \\ x =  \frac{145}{4}  \\  \\ hence \: daughters \: age \: is \:  \frac{145}{4}

auroshree59: what is the mother's age?
aditya2253812: 1/4
