relative method: In this method, the age of fossil are determined by digging the earth . That is the fossil that appears just below the earth crust is formed recently . Then few meters below that layer , the fossil that we obtained from that layer formed so many years ago and the fossil that buried in the deepest layer formed millions of years ago.

Carbon dating method: In carbon dating method the age of fossil is determined by comparing the radio activity of c-12 atom of fossil with radioactivity of living organisms .
