The present age of the daughter is 2 years.

The present age of the mother is 26 years.

Explanation:

Let, the present age of the daughter be, 'n'.

∴ The present age of the mother = (n×13)

                                                       = 13n

The age of the daughter after 4 years = (n+4)

The age of the mother after 4 years = (13n+4)

According to the problem,

(n+4)×5 = 13n+4

⇒ 5n + 20 = 13n+4

⇒ 20-4 = 13n-5n

⇒ 16 = 8n

⇒ 8n = 16

⇒ n = 16/8

⇒ n = 2

∴ The present age of the daughter is 2 years.

∴ The present age of the mother = (2×13) years

                                                      = 26 years

∴ The present age of the mother is 26 years.
