⇒ 20-4 = 13n-5n

⇒ 16 = 8n

⇒ 8n = 16

⇒ n = 16/8

⇒ n = 2

∴ The present age of the daughter is 2 years.

∴ The present age of the mother = (2×13) years

                                                      = 26 years

∴ The present age of the mother is 26 years.
