Solution:

☯ Let present age of Ramya and Sofi be x and y respectively.

★ Now, According to the Question:

• Sum of age of Ramya and Sofi is 28.

→ x + 2y = 28 .....eq (1)

• Sum of 3/4 age of Ramya and 1/4 age of Sofi is 11.

→ 3/4 x + 1/4 y = 11

→ (3x + y)/4 = 11

→ 3x + y = 44 .....eq (2)

• Now, Multiplying eq (1) by 3, we get,

→ 3x + 6y = 84 .....eq (3)

Now, Using Elimination method,

• Subtracting eq (2) from eq (3), we get,

→ y = 8

• Now, Putting value of y in eq (1),

→ x + 2 × 8 = 28

→ x + 16 = 28

→ x = 28 - 16

→ x = 12

Hence,

• Ramya's age, x = 12 years
• Sofi's age, y = 8 years
