→ 3x + y/4 = 11
→ 3x + y = 44 ......(2)
Multiply equation (1) by 3
→ 3(2y + x = 28)
→ 6y + 3x = 84 .....(3)
Our equation are,
- 2y + x = 28 .....(1)
- 3x + y = 44 ......(2)
- 6y + 3x = 84 .....(3)
Subtract equation (2) from equation (3)
→ (6y + 3x = 84) - (3x + y = 44)
→ 6y + 3x - 3x - y = 84 - 44
→ 6y - y = 84 - 44
→ 5y = 40
→ y = 40/5
→ y = 8
Put the value of y in equation (1)
→ 2y + x = 28
→ 2 * 8 + x = 28
→ 16 + x = 28
→ x = 28 - 16
→ x = 12
