x=4a+4b+4c+4d

now according to second condition

x+8=3(a+b+c+d+8)

ie x+8=3a+3b+3c+3d+24 (2)

now but x=4a+4b+4c+4d

so equate both equations you get

a+b+c+d=16

substitute it in (1) or (2)

you get x=64

so then substitute value of x in any of two equations you get

a+b+c+d=16

so she of father is 64 years and sum of ages of his four children is 16 years
