Step-by-step explanation:
Let the age of father be x years now and that 9f son be Y years now.
Then according to question,
[math]x/y = 5/3[/math]
Or [math]3x = 5y.[/math] {1}
But, after 10 years ratio of their age is [math]3/2.[/math]
Thus, mathematically :
[math](x+10)/(y+10)=3/2[/math]
[math]2x+20 = 3y+30[/math]
[math]2x-3y=10.[/math]
Going back to equation 1 we have [math]3x=5y [/math]or [math]y=3x/5[/math]
Put the above value of Y in equation 2 to get value of x which is the father's age.
[math]2x-3(3x/5) = 10[/math]
[math]2x-9x/5 =10[/math]
[math](10x-9x) = 50[/math]
X=50
