Explanation:
Respected guests and honorable judges, I am Shivam and the topic for debate today is "Aggression and sledging are an essential part of Sports"
The world of sports is just like any world. It is like the world of entertainment and the world of communication. It is a world which has its rules and regulations and is a respectable one. Sports are of many kinds, like cricket, football, rugby, tennis, squash, boxing, hockey, racket ball, swimming, biking, horse riding and much more. All sports are related to skills and not anger.
No sport is the kind to support anger. Indeed when players play a sport they take it too seriously and end up getting connected to it. Which is why they tend to become aggressive sometimes. However, there is no sport which supports the concept of getting aggressive and of sledging.
In the language of sports, sledging is the use of verbal provocation and inciting someone to do something by accusing them or abusing them verbally. When one team loses, their players might take out frustration in the form of sledging, but there is no need to do so. Everyone must follow some guidelines and have the sensibility to not say such things to other people. Every human needs to deal with situations in a calm and rational way because such an attitude and behavior is uncalled for.
It is not an essential part of sports, infact its a disliked part about sports.
A debate on the topic, 'Aggression and sledging are an essential part of Sports.':
“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”.
A very warm welcome to the judicial members and the other members who hear me today. I, am Shivani and I am here to speak against the motion “aggression and sledging are an essential part of sports”
It is always said that whenever we play, we should encompass the team spirit that comes along with it. But all we do is compete and try to out-stand others which leads to jealousy even within the team players.
Aggression and sledging trigger this jealousy and leads one to commit sins to the other team member as one tries to outrun the other. This can also result in social issues with the society members and therefore result in overall harm to the player himself. Therefore, i do not agree to this statement.
