Agno3 froms a white with nacl but not with ccl4 . why

in 1st case...nacl and agno3 both are ionic compound..so they will react and form a white precipitate of agcl....bu in 2nd case ...agno3 is ionic but ccl4 is not ionic...so they will not react and no precipitate will be formed
