Agriculture is the primary activity in India. Industries which support the economy of the country gets mostly their raw materials from the agriculture like cereals, fibres etc. And mote than half of population of India resides in villages and the main occupation in the villages is agriculture. Many people gets their livelihood from agriculture either by working on their field or by working on other's field.
