Agriculture plays a very important role in Indian economy. Agriculture is the oldest tradition in Indian history. Besides providing food it also provides raw materials for many industries and employment to a large percentage of Indian population. The role of agriculture in Indian economy are as follows:

1) Providing food for us.

2) Increasing our GDP.

3) Source of employment.

4) Providing raw materials for many industries.

5) Improve international trade .

6) Development of other sectors which depends on agriculture like Transport , banking etc.
