Given:

Ahaan can row his boat 45 km downstream in 6 hours and 15 km upstream in 6 hours.

To find:

Find the speed of Ahaan's boat in still water and the speed of the flow of stream.

Solution:

From given, we have,

Ahaan can row his boat 45 km downstream in 6 hours and 15 km upstream in 6 hours.

Speed of Ahaan's boat in still water is given by,

1/2 × (45/6 + 15/6)

= 1/2 × (60/6)

= 1/2 × (10)

= 5 km/hr

Speed of stream is given by,

1/2 × (45/6 - 15/6)

= 1/2 × (30/6)

= 1/2 × (5)

= 5/2 km/hr

Therefore, the speed of Ahaan's boat in still water and the speed of the flow of stream are 5 km/hr and 5/2 km/hr.
