Let side length be a,
Initial area is a^2
Now we have new length and width, so area becomes
(a + 1)(a + 3) = a^2 + 19
a^2 + 3a + a + 3 = a^2 + 19
4a + 3 = 19
4a = 16
Therefore a = 4 m
Length of side is now is a + 3 = 4 + 3 = 7m
Initial area is a^2
Now we have new length and width, so area becomes
(a + 1)(a + 3) = a^2 + 19
a^2 + 3a + a + 3 = a^2 + 19
4a + 3 = 19
4a = 16
Therefore a = 4 m
Length of side is now is a + 3 = 4 + 3 = 7m
