Ahmad travelled from Delhi to Mumbai by car. The odometer of the car reads 12758 km at Delhi and 14058 km in Mumbai. In the next journey Ahmad travelled between the same two places by an aeroplane. Let us suppose the aeroplane travels by the shortest path which is 800km. Find the distance and displacement covered by Ahmad

distance covered by Ahmad by car is 14058-12758

=1300km

the shortest distance is called displacement

so the distance travelled by aeroplane is shortest.

therefore, distance is 1300km and displacement is 800km

Answer:

Distance = (14058 - 12758) km = 1300km

Explanation:

The shortest distance travelled by an object is called its displacement.

So the distance travelled by the aeroplane is shortest i.e, 800km

therefore the distance is 1300km and displacement is 800km
