Answer:

Aim: To show the presence of Oxygen in Air

Materials needed: Big bowl, water, candle, matchbox, a jar

(Adult Supervision Required)

Procedure:

  1. Take a candle and fix it in the centre of a big bowl.
  2. Add some water to the bowl.
  3. Light the candle and cover it with an inverted jar.

Observation: The candle burns for some time before getting extinguished.

Conclusion: Oxygen supports combustion i.e it helps in burning. As soon as all of the oxygen is used up inside the jar, the candle blows out.
