Objective of Treatment : To reduce volume of sludge, to stabilize organic solids, and to recover resources. Typical Methods of Treatment : Thickening, chemical addition, centrifugation, filtration, digestion, incineration. Objective of Process : To place effluent and residues in "safe" places.
