OBJECTIVES:
Students will observe what happens when they mix oil and water together as well as oil and food coloring.
MATERIALS: 
cooking oil 
dropper 
water 
clear plastic glasses           
food coloring
Problem: Will food coloring mix with oil and water?
Research: Look up the word immiscible in a good dictionary. Write down the definition. If there are words in the definition you do not know, find out what they mean, too. Write down all definitions.
Hypothesis: Have you ever tried to mix oil and water? They do not mix. What do you think will happen when you mix the food coloring with the oil? What will happen when you mix it with water?
Procedure:

Pour 200 ml of water into a clear glass.Pour 200 ml of oil on top of the water. Record your observations.Stir the mixture. Record your observations.Add 1 to 2 drops of food coloring to the mixture. Record your observations.Stir the mixture. Record your observations.
