Aim: To show that carbon dioxide is released during fermentation.
Requirements – plastic bottles, marker pen, sugar, yeast granules, 2 balloons.

Procedure:
1. Take two plastic bottles and mark them A and B.
2. Fill them with water leaving some space at the top.
3. Put two spoonsful of sugar in each of the bottle.
4. Add a spoonful of yeast in bottle B.
5. Inflate the two balloons incompletely. Now tie the balloons on the mouths of each bottle.
6. Keep them in a warm place, away from sunlight. Watch the setup every day for next 3-4
days.
7. Record your observations and think of an explanation.

Explanation:

As the yeast eats the sugar, it releases a gas called carbon dioxide. The gas fills the bottle and then fills the balloon as more gas is created.
