Required Answer:-

Aim :

  • To study in size of a camphor when exposed to aim.

Need :

  • In order to study change in state of matter.

Methodology :

  • i) Take 2 pieces of camphor.
  • ii) Exposed it to air for few days.
  • iii) observe the changes taken place with respect to size to camphor.

Observation :

The original shape and size of the camphor has changed. It is smaller and distorted in shape.

Why so?

  • Camphor (Ammonium chloride) is a volatile solid. It has the tendency to change into vapours if exposed for longer time or heated.
  • Camphor reduced it's size because some camphor from the surface have sublimed and mixed with the atmosphere.
