To collect and analyse information on the history curriculum, teaching and learning and teacher education in relation to the development of democratic citizenship; its position in educational systems and its importance in relation to other subjects in the curriculum.

Aims are usually general and long term goals which are desired to be realized through teaching history. History aims at helping students to understand the present existing social, political, religious and economic conditions of the people. The present is in fact the child of the past. It is a development of the past.
