Air conditioners are generally filled at higher level on the wall of the room .why?

Air conditioners are fitted at higher levels on the walls of a room in order to produce quick cooling in the room. This is because the cooled air from the AC comes down and the warm air from below rises up and a convection current is set up.

Air conditioner is placed higher on the wall because when it is placed at a height it cools air the is closer to ceiling .As we know that hot air rises up due to lower density,the cool air comes down and make the room cooler
