Air does not have volume and mass but occupies space. Is volume and space occupied are different?

No, occupy space and volume are the same. Air consist of various colourless particle of gases like oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide etc. And this particle have mass but it is very very less. Hence as air have mass and occupy space, it can be called as matter.
