(1) dry wood absorbed water by imbibition for few hours and thereafter by osmosis
(2) dried seeds absorbed water only by osmosis
(3) dried seeds absorbed water by imbibition for few hours and thereafter by osmosis
(4) both of them absorbed water by osmosis and imbibition simultaneously
Answers
Answer:
(4) both of them absorbed water by osmosis and inhibition simultaneously
Answer:d
Explanation:
This is from nseb 2019 and the answer is d coz
Imbibition occur in all dry stuff which had some cavity in or some spaces it is the prop that ancient people of Egypt used to break rocks by inserting dry wood in cracks similarly when some part of seed is scrapped off and makes space for water to enter also as the water potential is very low in the seed as it has more solute in high amount so water moves in by both the process step by step and when seen in wood this solute is present and after some time (hours) when when water gets the spaces to go into the cell osmosis occur after imbibition
Hope it help as I also gave the exam may be i am quite wrong with the wood but let's wait for the answer keys to come
