Air has matter, that has weight and occupies space. If we take a balloon with no air in it and throw it up it comes down very fast but if we fill the balloon with air and throw it up it comes down after some time with normal air, not helium. Why does this happen?

1. When a filled balloon and an unfilled balloon fall on the Earth, both are subjected to gravity and buoyancy force.

2. The buoyance force is dependent of the surface area as it is created by the amount of air displaced by the object.

This is due to the action of gravity of earth and buoyancy by atmosphere

It depends on the surface area and the mass

The air resistance in case of full filled air make it fall slow but in case full filled it gives low pressure due to more mass of balloon and it falls faster

Hope it helps
