Hello there !!
The blackening of the vessels indicate sooty flame due to incomplete combustion of the fuel .
Air (oxygen )is necessary for complete combustion. The air holes of the gas burner provide air for combustion and they have to be adjusted so that a blue and non-sooty flame is produced.
