Air is a bad conductor of heat. why it becomes hot in summer
khushi258:
In addition to Dennis' answer, air is a poor conductor because its molecules are not in continuous contact with one another unlike a solid. Heat by conduction passes more quickly in a solid because the molecules' vibrations immediately affect their neighbours. Air molecules only tranfer energy upon collision, and that collision time is too small for any significant energy tranfer to occur. Heat transfer in air is mainly due to convection, which in general is less efficient than in conduction.

due to higher radiation from sun and reflections of the infra red (heat waves) waves from the earth which is absorbed by carbondioxide .thus summer is hotter.

As air is a bad conductor of heat, it does not mean that
its temperature will not rise. As sun rays have large amount of heat energy it heats the air with the help of infrared rays.
Or we can say,
due to higher radiation from sun and reflection of the infrared (heat wave) wave form the earth which is abserved by the carbon dioxide. Thus, summer is much hotter....
