air is an insulator of electricity but when the lightning strikes in the sky then how is the electricity able to pass through the air and reach trees and other things

At lightning due to electric charge the constituent of air which is mixed together decompose into o2, h2 etc. so due to it electricity carry by air.
The charge on lightning is 10^7 times lightning is from higher charge ( sky) to earth .
