air is blown around the coal or wood to burn it. Why?

to provide more air n oxygen so that it burns more vigorously m fast....blowing air helps in speeding up the reaction.....

The most important line -----
oxygen is required for burning any substance.
e.g ---- Not a single flash of light u will be able to see while burning a candle in a vacuum cylinder. While it 100% works in presence of sufficient oxygen.
