Air pressure helps us to suck the drinks because the pressure which generated by us is much more than the pressure of the drink therefore it is easy to suck drinks

The drinking of a liquid with the help of a hollow straw is also based on the pressure exerted by the atmosphere in the surface of the liquid. When ducked through a hollow straw, the liquid rises into the straw due to difference in the pressure of the air inside and outside the straw.
